Getting Here

I am officially a resident in South Carolina!

I got up this yesterday (Tuesday) and our flight was at 9:15 am. Our plane ride was 4 hours long. I took a nap and woke up and watched one of the flight films which turned out to be "Epic". It was pretty good..at first I was expecting Tinkerbell in it..but no luck. When it was over I just kind of sat and silence and was left with my thoughts. I caught the last 15 minutes of the second movie, but I never did figure out what it was called.

We had a stop in Chicago and we were meant to have a layover of an hour. I got 2 pretzel dogs because I got hungry at some point. They were pretty good :3 Our flight was scheduled to leave at 4:13pm (2 hours ahead of Cali), but there was a maintenance issue with the plane. They had to get mechanics to come and fix the passenger door that wasn't closing properly. I found out that quite a lot of people on our flight (there were 48 people on board total) were going to the same destination as me for army bootcamp. Our flight was delayed 3 hours and we finally got on our plane at 7pm (Chicago time), so I got a chance to talk to them a bit. They were nice and pretty funny. They thought we should have a complimentary brownie for waiting so long, but that didn't happen.

I got of the plane at 10:30pm (3 hours ahead of Cali) and it was 75 degrees outside! It was humid at night..so weird. We were met by one of the volunteer college seniors that help freshman move in. They drove us to my dorm and I got a chance to get settled, unpack, and chat with my roommate.

She's really nice. Her name is Sofia and we've been hitting it off pretty well-same sense of humor, taste in movies..I think we're off to a good start.

It's starting to feel kind of homey here, but my heart will always lie with my friends back home!
